Born to an Indian father (Pratap Sharma, a well-known voiceover artiste) and an English mother (Sue), Tara is a bright south-Mumbai girl who fared well for herself as a model. Her innocent and petal-soft face won her some of the most heavyduty ad campaigns, and gradually, she became a model to reckon with.

Tara, who is stationed in London, also undertook theatre on a large scale in the UK. Till date, she shuttles between Mumbai and London on acting and modelling assignments

Tara Sharma had started her career from Ad Films. Her Liril Ad is one of her popular one.

She debut in Hindi Cinema from Om Jai Jagdish in 2002 opposite Abhishek Bachchan. It was neither a hit film nor Tara had any scope for acting also. Then she came in Saaya in 2003 opposite John Abrahim, in which the story revolves around her.
